Downtown Las Vegas every first Friday of the month has an event, hosted by Zappos, in the Art District. It is so cleverly and simply referred to as First Friday. Some streets are blocked off from traffic for tents and booths and all the art galleries and antique shops are opened for all who come.
On Friday Paul and I went with Red, Sydney, Chase, Alexis and Zack. Sydney has showed some interest in art so we thought it would be a fun free activity. We hit up a lot of the booths and tents but didn't make it to as many of the galleries as I would have liked to. There is just too much to see so we will have to do it again.
It was nice to see some of the art and culture of Las Vegas and fun to watch people in Paul's words "let their freak flag fly". I was worried the kids would be little overwhelmed with the crazy people that First Friday brings out but they enjoyed it. After a couple of hours we were tired, hot and ready for some water so we headed over to Yogurtland for a perfect end to a great night.
