Anniversary!

Paul and I celebrated are one year anniversary Friday the 17th. Our real anniversary was the 19th but it was a Sunday and the Saturday before we were at the Temple so we decided to celebrate on the 17th. It was awesome. Paul woke up and made me a breakfast smoothie then I came home early so we could relax and watch a movie. Paul cooked a fabulous dinner. It was this chicken and broccoli recipe he had got from a customer at the bank and was pretty fancy stuff. We finished and went out to the strip and saw Love at the Mirage. It is the best Cirque Du Soleil show I have seen. It was the first show Paul has ever seen on the strip which was perfect because he is such a Beatles fan. Anyway it was a great night and has been a great year. Paul is the sweetest man I know and is my best friend. Life is wonderful!

Waka Waka

Shakira's Waka Waka that she did for the 2010 World Cup is my new favorite song. I get down with my bad self every time I hear it. If you haven't heard it yet or in awhile... Find it, blast it, and dance. You will absolutely love it.

Best Show Ever!

Sufjan Stevens

On November 1st my life was changed forever. Paul and I went up to Utah to see Sufjan Stevens preform in SLC. It was beautiful and absolutely amazing. He opened with a song from Seven Swans, played almost all the songs on his two latest albums including a twenty minute song, and ended with best encore I have ever heard. I loved it. By far best show I have ever been to. He wore his wings but they were better than think picture. They were white feathers. He is hot and an amazing artist. Paul and I had a great time in Utah. We stayed with Jacks, got hooked on Friday Night Lights, ate at zupas, and shopped at IKEA. All and all a fabulous trip.

My latest addiction....

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
While in Utah this last time, we were up there for Sufjan Steven's concert which needs to be an entire post itself, Jack and Jeff got us hooked on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS! We love it. Our day is no longer complete without an episode of it. I love coach Taylor and his wife, I have a major crush on Matt, and think Lance is hilarious. It is a great show. Anyone who hasn't watched it should start. Netflix has the first four seasons on instant play. It is good stuff. I highly recommend it.

Google Me!

Wow! First off you all should watch the documentary film called Google Me. Paul and I watched it about seven months ago and I forgot about it until I typed in the title for this post. Anyway, I google my name every once in awhile just to see what is out there in the world wide web. I know pretentious aren't I. I normally don't find much, thankfully, but this time I did. It was a site my sister Jacquelynn set up for me when I went on a mission. The site was so that everyone in my family could post pictures so I could keep up with the family. One of the first pictures was this one. It was September 5th, 2005. I know I am getting old. Not the point so back to my story. Jacquelynn and Jeff were living in Hawaii when I went into the M.T.C. so they surprised me and came to the airport super early to see me fly out to my temporary mission in California until I got my visa to go to Spain. It was awesome and seriously pushed me to work hard. I loved this picture cause you can tell Jacks and I were way excited but that Jeff was a bit irritated that he had to wake up around 5 a.m. to see me. As I looked through all the pictures I started to tear up. I am so lame. I saw all the things I missed. My best friend having her first baby, Jacks getting pregnant and having Anna, Sydney, Chase, and Alexis' baptisms, Mason being born, and so much more. Then I started to cry as I thought of all things I saw, learned, and experienced during that time that I missed. And I wouldn't change it for the world. I loved my mission and my family was here waiting for me when I got home. VIVA ESPANA!

Banana Grahams...the best treat ever!

The best treat ever is this super amazing Banana Graham that my brilliant sister Jacquelynn created. As you all know Jacks is a "healthy cook, cooker" and while Paul and I were visiting last week she shared her awesomeness with us. This picture is as close as I could get to the divine ecstasy that we experienced. It will have to do but doesn't even capture the greatness of the Banana Grahams. First cut up banana's into about one inch slices. Then melt chocolate down. What type of chocolate you prefer. I personally love milk chocolate . Then choose your toppings. Chopped nuts, graham cracker crumbs, coconut, whatever you like. If you are super adventures mix them all. WOW! Once chocolate is melted cover banana in chocolate then roll in whatever topping you decide. Put on a cookie sheet with wax paper and put in the freezer. I personally thought they were best half frozen but either way is fine. I am sooooo thankful for my super creative sister cause Paul and I heart these delicious snackers. XOXO Love you Jackers!

Bo the genius....

Blogging Terminology...

As a fairly new member of the blogging society I sometimes get lost in the blog world so I decided to get updated on the latest blogging terminology. Here were a few of my favorites...

Blawg: A law blog (I actually already new this one from Arrested Development so I felt good going into this)

Bloggies: A popular blog award

Bloggernacle: Blogs written by and for Mormons (really liked this one, being a Mormon and all)

Moblog: A blog mainly updated through a mobile phone.

Vlog: A blogger that mainly does videos for there blog

I thought all of these different types of blogs were very interesting but I was more interested in learning lingo I could use. It took me awhile to figure out who my SIL was talking about in her blog when she used terms like the one previously in this sentence. SIL=sister-in-law . I was unable to find such short hands besides family members and ppl for people. So I ask you all you seasoned bloggers...what lingo wisdom can you pass on to me so I can one day achieve the exceptional quality of blogging all of you have? Please comment. Thanks.

91 Minutes I'll never get back!

When in Rome is by far one of 2010's worse movies. I must confess I think we all knew that going into it but we still had some hope. Our excuse....Veronica Mars. Randomly last week my sister, Jen, and Paul and I all started watching a t.v. series called Veronica Mars starring Kristen Bell. Jen did on her own without us knowing and cause Paul and I were sick we decided it could keep us occupied as we lay in bed. Anyway, the three of us had been watching that series and this movie had come out earlier this year both of which have Kristen Bell so we thought why not. Paul, Dianna, and I went over to Jen's for dinner and a movie last night. Dinner was great but the movie not so much. It was over acted and ridiculously silly. And can I say no one wants to see Danny De Vito chasing after anyone let alone a young, cute girl. The only redeeming thing about it was "sausage" that is all I can say. Anyway, save yourself the time and skip this one even if you are in the mood for a chick flick just watch one you have already seen.

Summer Sickness...

About four weeks ago I started getting sick. Right before going out of town to the cabin for the 4th of July I went to the doctors and found out I had bronchitis. I took some antibiotics and was feeling better but still not 100%. Then this past Sunday Paul and I both woke up sick. After being uplifted by SPAIN'S victory we went to church. By the time church was out Paul and I were drained of energy, we work in the nursery, and decided to take a nap. I woke up and started making dinner. Paul woke up a bit later and came out in the kitchen to chat. He was up for about ten minutes and then he blacked out. Thankfully right before he blacked out he said "I am going to pass out". Although I couldn't completely catch him I was able to slow down the fall so that he didn't hurt himself. I freaked out and started crying while fanning him and slapping him as I yelled "wake up!". Once he woke up his fever he had previously had seemed to have dropped dramatically. I immediately called our friends near by to help me take him to the doctors and before I could finish dressing Paul they were there. Paul said he was better and didn't want to go to the doctor so our friend, Tyler, gave him a blessing. By the time they left Paul had color back in his face and looked good. He woke up the next day with a fever again. He said again he didn't want to go to the doctor. So on Tuesday we went cause he still had a fever. After a urine test, blood test, and mouth swab all they said was to rest and take Tylenol. Great right? Anyway, we slept on and off all day yesterday and both felt good to go to work today. I just hope that we continue to get better. It has been a though few weeks but I am glad we are doing better. Paul blacking out was by far the scariest thing I have experienced. I guess I don't do as well as I would like to think when "under pressure".

Top Ten Reasons Why Avatar Is Overrated

10.Between waking up, starting Avatar, eating breakfast, continuing Avatar, eating lunch, continuing avatar, taking a walk, continuing avatar, eating dinner, and finishing avatar I lost the plot line somewhere.

9.They find true connection with animals by connecting their hair to the animal, so why not connect when they are acting like animals.

8.I get that Mr. Cameron was comparing Pandora's search for natural resources and how they destroyed that planet to earth's search for natural resources (oil, coal) is destroying our planet, but unlike Avatar, we don't have the option of going to war with ourselves and kicking the humans off the planet, so Mr. Cameron, how about doing more then pointing out a problem that has been around for decades... how about solutions Mr. Cameron, Solutions.

7.That last one was a little serious so, why did the Na'vi cross the road? They don't have roads silly, they live in the wilderness!

6.Although the color and imagery was great in Avatar, I would still rather be in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory than on Pandora.

5.Unlike other moving movies I have seen, the only emotion brought out by Avatar is frustration, because all I hear at home now is a hissing noise followed by Avatar gibbirish.

4.I am way confused about how this has anything to do with the last airbender.

3.Blue is so 80's.

2.Smurfette is way hotter than any of them Avatar creatures.

1.Wait! I have seen this movie before when it was called Ferngully

" It's too late to apologize..... " I would like to publicly apologize to all of those bloggers out there that I slammed in my first post. I know now what I didn't know then. It am extremely sorry that I thought that keeping your blog updated was easy. Now after some time of having a blog of my own I understand how difficult it gets to keep up with current posts. Before I started the blog "I'm hearing what you say but I just couldn't make a sound." I hope you guys don't feel like " You tell me what that you're sorry didn't think I'd turn around and say...It's too late to apologize, it's too late." So please accept my apology. I will try to be better. Thank you.

A Vicious Cycle!

Since Paul and I stared dating to now I have gained about 20 pounds. I know that is disgusting but I must say it is not entirely my fault. I have a theory that buying new jeans puts you in a vicious cycle. I will explain.... but first off you have to know that's not me, I wish it was but I have a way bigger belly. Anyway the cycle first begins by buying new jeans that are loose and comfortable. As you do so you feel skinnier cause your jeans don't hurt you and you don't have to unbutton them when you go out to eat. You realize that your jeans fall down and think wow these jeans aren't tight at all. You start to put on weight and then your pants that were once loose and comfy become tight and extremely uncomfortable. When this happens you get an even bigger size of pants and think wow this are loose. So on and so forth. It is a sick cycle and very misleading so beware and don't be fooled by your new loose pants that are two sizes bigger. Buying too big of jeans doesn't really make you smaller.

Super Center vs. Market

WAL*MART and I have a love/hate relationship. On one hand I think it is one of the greatest places ever. It provides all my needs in one location at a fair price but on the hand it is always too busy, is shifty with its employment, and almost a monopoly. I have tried a time or two to boycott WAL*MART and it just isn't worth it. Last night Paul and I decided to try out a Neighborhood Market WAL*MART. Neither of us had ever been to one and were headed home from my brothers house and thought it would be better to check it out than go to the Super Center next to our house. Although it is still a WAL*MART we had a really good overall experience. It still has everything we needed, cause we were just grocery shopping, with low prices. On top of that it was really slow and was a 20 min stop when normally it is a good 45 min stop to go all around the store, do all of our shopping, and then wait in line. Last night we waited for literally a minute before getting rung up. It was fast, clean, and easy. Although it is still a WAL*MART I would have to venture and say that it is way better. If all you need is groceries or hygiene products the Neighborhood Market is the way to go.

New Post

So eighteen years ago, All yall lazies was watchin' the boob tube, and you know what? I was busy that day, I was creating a chaos like substance known as anarchy. I lit a pub on fire, stole a p.a. system, and got my first guitar. It wasn't about any race, it wasn't about Rodney King, it was about coming to a higher plane, and staying on top of that plane. That's what I was doing, word.

The Healing Powers...

It was something I was not allowed to have as a child. Once old enough to realize the healing powers of Dr. Pepper, I was truly converted to his ways. Today like some other days that I have previously had was not a good one. I had a massive headache that would not go away. On my lunch I took a few Advils and a nap in hopes to get rid of this horrible pain. I woke up to my dissappointment still with a headache. It was only 12:30 p.m. and I was due back at work. As I walked into my office I saw out of the corner of my eye the solution to all of my problems..... Dr. Pepper! I slowly drank the magical drink and as it flowed down my throat I could already feel an improvement. By the time I was done with the can I was ready to get back to work. A half hour later I was completley healed. Now even though it was a can and not a bottle, which in my opinion is the purest, best form, of Dr. Pepper I would like to thank the good people who have made it possible for me to drink it. From the creator Charles Alderton to the delivery men. Without you my life would not be complete.

This is my confession....

Everyone has them whether one wants to admit them or not, they are something that haunts us all, no matter what we do or what we say we all have our own guilty little pleasures. After only four short months of being married Paul found out one of mine last night. We were watching a movie and all of a sudden I found myself singing along with a song word for word. As Paul turned to me and asked how I knew all of the lyrics I knew at that moment something I had hid for sometime would have to eventually come out and that it was better to let him know sooner than later. That is that..... I like Avril Lavigne. I know! I am sorry! That is why it is called a guilty pleasure. Anyway, it is shocking cause I can't stand the chick. From the way she dresses to her screw all kind of attitude. I think she sold out and wasn't even real to began with so who can blame her for the down fall but needless to say I still like her music. I don't own any of her albums or anything but every now and again I catch myself singing along with her juvenile songs. This is my confession, now tell me one of yours.

The Creation of Tatum Tots

As I sit here, at work, on a Wednesday I found myself once again wanting to take a break. I sit at a computer everyday so one source of relief during the day is to get updated on my friends and family members blogs. This requires me to do something that I HATE to do....rely on other people. Jen, Jacquelynn, Karli, Leah, Melissa, Red and many more thank you for being unreliable and driving me to the point of no return. The point of no return being me creating my own blog. Now the creating of a blog is more difficult then I had anticipated. First I had to choose a blog provider. I was lost and had no idea which would be best for me so I simply used the same as Jen because I like the logo for the blogspot better than vox which is what Melissa uses. I was going to do Red's because she by far blogs the most but didn't see a logo for hers , which leads you to blogspot.com. The next part was coming up with a name. This was probably the easiest part. I am now legally a Tatum and I always have lots of thoughts or in Ebonics "tots" plus it sounds a bit like tator tots which are actually probably my least favorite form of potatoes. Karli and I just were talking about this on Friday so it was fresh in my mind. Then came the the URL. I didn't even know what URL stood for but thanks to google I now know.....Uniform Resource Locator. After two tries what I typed in worked and here we are. The last step was picking a background. I didn't like any of them so I quickly chose one as I had already spent more time on this then I should have. I will see what we can do about that at a later time. Anyway....welcome to Tatum Tots I hope you enjoy and that I can provide for you what unfortunately so many others couldn't for me.
